康有为在丁巳复辟中所起作用的大小。是以张勋对他的态度为前提的．前期，由于张勋的极力推崇，使康有为得以加入复辟活动中去；但到了后期，由于张勋的排斥，使康有为没能参加任何复辟活动，而这恰好又是复辟的最重要时期．撇开被排斥的后期不说，即使在被推崇的前期，康有为的活动只是进行建议、鼓动而已，作用是十分有限的，复辟的具体计划是张勋招集军阀制定并实施的，与康有为无关．把康有为看成复辟主谋的观点是不能成立的．
