近日偶尔从一本艺术杂志中看到了“新都市粤剧”这一提法,颇觉新鲜。细读有关论述,更深受启发,觉得这种新的路子,确实有助于粤剧留住都市观众,走出低谷,重新焕发出旺盛的生命力,值得有关领导部门及行内人士去探索、经营。按照笔者的理解,“新都市粤剧”的含义大概是指适应或靠近当今都市观众欣赏口味的剧目和表现形式,它首先要有一种新的脸孔、更具有新招迭出的艺术手法,在继承和发扬传统的同时,敢于革新。粤剧在现代都市中的地位日渐式微,这是个不争的事实,当今自觉自愿走进都市剧场观赏粤剧的人,年龄档次比影视歌坛的观众要大得多,哪怕在那一群号称“拥趸”、“戏迷”的追星一族中,年已半百的师奶、太太也占了相当大的比例,极少见到有几个朝气蓬勃的年轻人。多年来,如何去培养青年观众、使都市的粤剧观众群体免至于断层,已经成为粤剧界的老生常谈了,可惜的是,至今还未见有什么行之有效的举措去吸引这一代人,把他们尽量地吸引到粤剧舞台前面来。不但如此,就连一些知识界的中老年观众也觉得兴趣渐减,究其原因,则是因为精品匮乏、题材落套、行当失传、重唱轻做、节奏拖沓……以上事实,足可见如何保住都市舞台这一块阵地,已经成了粤剧界当务之急了。
