我去走访胡铁生同志,是因为他是上海模具技术研究所的董事长。建国以来一提起“董事长”这个名词,人们几乎把它与资本家相等同,因此,一个共产党员,尤其是具有几十年党龄的共产党员,自己找个董事长当,是需要有股勇气的。党的十一届三中全会赋予“董事长”以新的含义。而上海模具技术研究所又是这位董事长的“最新成果”,不久前,胡铁生曾已当了中华旅游纪念品总公司的董事长。
