Becker et al. (1963) noted elevated intraocular pressure after topical corticosteroid use in some patients with normal eye, which is more common in open-angle glaucoma relatives. As topical application of corticosteroids has the potential to increase intraocular pressure, which limits its widespread and long-term use.
