气象卫星的发展速度在所有应用类卫星中可谓名列前茅。如今的气象卫星拥有紫外、可见光、红外和微波等多种工作频段,可以在高轨的地球同步轨道和低轨的太阳同步轨道上对地球遂行气象观测、成像探测等多种任务。作为最早发射气象卫星并且多次尝试采用新型气象卫星工作方式的国家,美国对气象卫星的探索和发展已经逐渐形成了自己的体系。
The speed of development of meteorological satellites is among the best of all applied satellites. Today’s meteorological satellites have many working frequency bands such as ultraviolet, visible light, infrared and microwave. They can perform various tasks such as meteorological observation and imaging exploration on the geosynchronous orbit of a high orbit and the sun orbit of a low orbit. As the earliest country to launch weather satellites and try many new meteorological satellites, the United States has gradually developed its own system of exploration and development of meteorological satellites.
