Researchers at Kyushu University in Japan use a device that determines the effect of chemotherapy on the difference in the percentage of laser light that is absorbed by cancer cells and can be used to screen cancer chemotherapeutic drugs. The device is a laser that irradiates the surface of a metal film coated with a gold-coated film substrate (at 2.5 cm2) in which cancer cells are located (related to the activity of cancer cells). Chemotherapy to reduce the number of cancer cells, the amount will be reduced. Thus measuring its intensity, can calculate the extent of cancer cells in the decline, in order to evaluate the effect of chemotherapy.
