Article 1 According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Protection of the Rights and Interests of the Elderly, the present Measures shall be formulated in the light of the actual situation in the province. Article 2 The term “seniors” as mentioned in the present Measures refers to citizens over 60 years of age. Article 3 The legal rights and interests of the elderly are protected by law and no organization or individual may infringe upon the lawful rights and interests of the elderly. It is forbidden to discriminate, insult, abuse or abandon the elderly.
