党的第十二次全国代表大会,是党的第七次全国代表大会以来的一次最重要的会议。这次大会确定了全面开创社会主义现代化建设新局面的正确纲领,明确指出教育和科学是今后经济发展的战略重点之一,教育是建设两种文明的前提和基础。作为一个教育工作者,深感自已的任务光荣,责任重大。近两年来,党中央大力倡导建设社会主义精神文明,收到了很好的效果。胡耀邦同志在这次大会的报告中,进一步从科学社会主义的理论高度和我国社会发展前途的政治高度阐述了建设社会主义精神文明的重大意义。着重指出,以共产主义思想为核心的社会主义精神文明,是社会主义的一个重要特征。没有以共产主义思想为核心的社会主义精神文明,就不可能建设社会主义。这就使我们的认识提高了一大步,给了我们统一思想认识的有力武器。
The 12th National Congress of the Party is one of the most important meetings since the Seventh National People’s Congress. This congress has set a correct program for comprehensively launching a new situation in socialist modernization and clearly states that education and science are one of the strategic priorities for economic development in the future. Education is the precondition and foundation for building the two civilizations. As an educator, I feel my job is glorious and responsible. In the past two years, the CPC Central Committee has vigorously advocated the building of a socialist spiritual civilization and has received very good results. In this report, Comrade Hu Yaobang further expounded the great significance of building a socialist spiritual civilization from the theoretical height of scientific socialism and the political height of the future of our social development. It is emphasized that the socialist spiritual civilization with communist ideology as its core is an important feature of socialism. Without socialist spiritual civilization with communist ideology at its core, it is impossible to build socialism. This has taken a big step forward in our understanding and given us a powerful weapon for unifying our thinking.
