In May 1942, the Japanese occupation of Burma and the cutting off of the Burma Road led to the disappearance of the only transport corridor between China and the outside world. In order to ensure that the strategic materials needed by the Chinese government for the war against Japan are effectively replenished, the two countries are forced to open a new air channel between Assam in northeastern India and Kunming, China. The route is 500 miles in length and its topography is at an altitude of 4500-5500 meters above sea level with a maximum height of 7,000 meters. As the voyage by the rolling peaks, like the camel’s back, it was named “Hump route ”
