随着社会主义市场经济体制的逐步建立,人们对高校图书馆的信息工作已有了新的认识和要求:不仅要为学校教学、科研提供良好的文献服务,而且要走向市场,走向社会,为社会主义经济建设提供各种信息咨询服务。目前,一些图书馆的信息工作部门仍不了解用户的信息要求,只是把新到的期刊论文、专著等作简单的报道,或是翻译几篇国外的文献资料,效果甚微。本人认为,要想较好地发挥功能,必须多方位地开发、编辑、发行“信息资源”的简报(本文称它为信息报)。
