《毛泽东选集》第一至四卷第二版在建党70周年之际出版了。这确是一件具有重大政治意义的事情。《毛泽东选集》不是一般的理论读物,而是今后长时期内对干部和群众包括青年进行思想理论教育的基本教材。对于各级领导干部来说,应当从这样的认识高度出发,自觉地坚持不懈地学习《毛泽东选集》。《毛泽东选集》是新民主主义革命经验的科学总结,虽是当时的产物,但其中的多许基本原理、原则,已上升成为一种理论形态,具有普遍的意义。在当代,尽管我们的形势与任务有了很大变化,这些理论仍有很强的生命力。
The second edition of the first to the fourth volumes of the Selected Works of Mao Zedong was published on the 70th anniversary of founding of the party. This is indeed a matter of major political significance. The Selected Works of Mao Tse-tung is not a general theoretical reading but a basic textbook for ideological and theoretical education for cadres and the masses, including young people, in the long run. For leading cadres at all levels, we should proceed from such a high level of understanding and conscientiously persist in studying the “Selected Works of Mao Zedong.” The “Selected Works of Mao Zedong” is a scientific summary of the experience of the new democratic revolution. Although it was a product of the time, many of the basic principles and principles among them have risen into a theoretical form and have universal significance. In the contemporary era, despite the great changes in our situation and tasks, these theories still have strong vitality.
