The World Catalog Control and International Machine Readable Directory Program, or UBCIM Program for short, is one of the five core IFLA programs. The purpose of this program is to work hard to coordinate the development of national bibliographic control and international bibliographic data exchange systems and standards while working to promote a common machine-readable directory format and to coordinate its development and maintenance with experts. UBC’s office is located in the British Library in London and includes two main areas of work: revision and publication of standard bibliographic descriptions of various types of library materials based on various recommendations; establishment of naming conventions and uniform headings . The program works closely with the International Reading List Program and disseminates research findings through publications and quarterly “International Catalogs” including the Guidelines, as well as through seminars and seminars. The International Machine Readable Directory (IM) is based in the German Library in Frankfurt am Main and is responsible for the application of the International MARC catalogs, including technical feasibility studies and testing of universal machine readable catalogs. And published “International Machine Readable Directory Program Newsletter.”
