为了深入贯彻党的总路綫和党的八届八中全会的精神,鼓舞全国青年职工反右倾,鼓干劲,努力实现今年的大跃进,并为明年继续大跃进作好准备,中国青年报在九月中旬开始报道了青年工人“高速度跨进1960年”的运动。9月15日,中国青年报用整版篇幅,大张旗鼓地报道了上海青年工人高速度跨进1960年的英雄事迹,并发表社论,热烈赞扬他们的革命干劲和崇高风格,号召全国青年工人向他们看齐。接着,又坚持地连续地进行了宣传,到十月十二日为止,在二十七天内,先后按地区集中地报道了太原、河北、沈阳、重庆、南京等十六个省市开展这一活动的突出成绩,表扬了高速度跨进1960年的先进集体和先进人物一百四十三个,刊登了他们的照片五十九张,共使用了约十二个版的篇幅。这一宣传在10月12日达到第一个高峰。当天,报纸以套红色的两个整版的篇幅进行宣传,发表了“千百万青年工人和时间赛跑”的综合报道、“为高速
In order to thoroughly implement the party’s general line and the spirit of the 8th Plenary Session of the 8th CPC Central Committee, encourage all young workers in the country to oppose the rightists and motivate each other and strive to achieve this year’s great leap forward and be ready for the Great Leap Forward next year. China Youth Daily Beginning mid-month, the campaign of young workers entering “high-speed into 1960” began to be reported.
