云南省政府经济技术研究中心特约研究员,云南省生态经济学会、林业经济学会、环境学会常务理事,云南省林业调查规划院工程师张嘉宾同志,按照林业部科技司委托的课题研究计划,编写了《森林生态经济学》一书。作者曾系统地受过八年林业专业教育,但在实践中却早就不得不感到他所学到的专业知识很不够用,于是,他结合工作,不断学习马克思主义经济理论和毛泽东思想,不断学习生态科学及有关科学,不断拓宽知识领域、开阔思路、研究林业建设中的实际问题。一九七八年我与唐子奇同志很有兴趣地翻阅了他的一篇有创见的论文、听了他关于西双版纳自然保护和开发利用的发言及一起工作了一段时间后,我们觉得他的研究很有意义。此后八年,他持续地研究森林生态经济问题,运用长期积累的资料,发表了三四十篇科技论文、文章和译文,有的文章在国际学术会议上交流后,受到了外
