The authors designed a new set of esophageal electrode systems and investigated its efficacy in cardioversion of atrial and ventricular tachyarrhythmia. Methods Totally 131 transesophageal cardiac cardioversion was performed in 105 patients, including atrial fibrillation 109 times, atrial flutter 16 times, supraventricular tachycardia 2 and ventricular tachycardia 4 times.
