展览中心是一个城市甚至国家对外交流的平台之一,某种意义上说,展览中心以及展会的层次能体现当地经济发展的水平和地位。图书馆是精神世界的乐土,它的意义在于体现民众对文化知识的重视程度,体现对国民的精神层面的满足。展览中心和图书馆,乍看之下,两者并无多大瓜葛,但在2008年这个特殊时期的北京,随着中国国际展览中心二期工程和中国国家图书馆二期工程的相继竣工并投入使用,这两者的并置,从中似也能读出些许意味。
