Phenylfluorone reagents have been widely used in photometric analysis of metal ions as high sensitivity reagent. Their fluorescence properties are also applicable to fluorescence analysis. However, their application in chemiluminescence analysis has not been reported yet. 2,3,7, Trihydroxy-9- (2,4-dimethoxy) phenylfluorone (DMPF) is a new reagent in phenylfluorone reagent. In this paper, the chemiluminescence behavior of DMPF has been studied in detail. The experimental results show that when DMPF is oxidized by H 2 O 2 in alkaline medium, chemiluminescence is generated. Co (Ⅱ) ion can catalyze the reaction and enhance the luminescence intensity.
