Jinghe County is under the jurisdiction of Xinjiang Autonomous Prefecture of Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Region and has jurisdiction over 2 agricultural farms in 3 townships and 1 township, with 132,989 people (County Bureau of Statistics 2004 Annual Report), of which, Han accounts for 70%, Uyghur accounts for 12% and Kazak accounts for 9.2% %, Mongolian 3.6%, and other 19 ethnic minorities 5.2%.
