One of the most influential socio-economic events in Europe this year is perhaps the June election for the European Parliament. The number of attendees this year has been the lowest ever, with only 49% of voters voting enthusiastically. Only 24% of those qualifying in Britain vote, while 6% of voters in France cast a blank vote. This year we have noticed a marked decline in the euro against the U.S. dollar, mainly as a result of the weak German economy.
