衔接是篇章语言学中的一个重要概念,一直以来都是语言学家们关注的焦点。中国学生“好”、“差”作文中的衔接手段运用有明显差异——“好”作文中的衔接手段比“差”作文中的多;中国学生作文中的衔接错误较多;中国学生英语作文中的衔接、连贯和质量三者之间存在显著关系。Haliday和Hasan(1976)将衔接手段分为语法衔接和词汇衔接两种。前者包括照应、替代、省略、连接。后者包括复现和同现关系。
Cohesion is an important concept in discourse linguistics and has always been the focus of linguists. There are obvious differences in the use of cohesive devices in Chinese students’ “good” and “bad” compositions - “cohesive” means in “good” compositions are more than those in “poor” compositions; There are more errors in convergence; there is a significant relationship between the cohesion, coherence and quality of Chinese students’ English composition. Haliday and Hasan (1976) classify cohesion as grammatical cohesion and lexical cohesion. The former includes care, substitution, omission, connection. The latter includes recurrence and co-occurrence relations.
