原中国人民解放军装甲兵政治委员、黄埔军校同学会副会长莫文骅将军对黄埔同学会有着特殊的情结。他心系黄埔同学,为黄埔同学会的工作倾注了满腔心血。1927年5月4日,正在南宁省立一中上学的莫文骅因积极从事革命活动,被捕入狱,受尽了非人的摧残和折磨。在狱中,他和难友们相约,只要不掉脑袋,出去后一定要搞武装,掌握枪杆子。1929年7月,莫文骅经组织介绍,考入广西陆军军官学校(黄埔军校南宁分校),校长由北伐名将李明瑞兼任。李明瑞的大名,莫文骅早有耳闻。听说李明瑞在北伐战争中骁勇善战,被誉为“虎将”。他为能作为“虎将”的武学生,学军事本领,日后能带兵打仗而自豪,对自己的未来充满无限的希望和信心。
