上海古籍出版社出版的“蓬莱阁丛书”学术专精而价格低廉,加之每种著作前又有一篇由当代学者执笔的长篇导读,因此便成了我最喜爱也最常参阅的书系之一。萧一山的《清史大纲》和蒋廷黻的《中国近代史》同列其中。因《清史大纲》后半部分内容述及中国近代史,我便取《中国近代史》与之对读,不想竟发现一有趣现象。萧一山《清史大纲》第五章第二节《帝国主义闯进了中国》提到林则徐和禁烟运动,其中有一段是这么说的:道光十九年正月二十五日,则徐行抵广州。

Because the latter part of “Outline of Qing History” refers to the modern history of China, I took the “Modern Chinese History” with it and did not want to find an interesting phenomenon. Xiao Yishan’s “Qing History Outline” Chapter V, Section II “Imperialism broke into China” mentions Lin Zexu and the anti-smoking campaign. One of them said something like this: Xu Guang arrived in Guangzhou on the 25th day of the 19th lunar month.
