罗非鱼生长快、耐低氧、耐密养、耐肥水等许多优点,许多渔民已把它作为一种优良鱼类混养。但是罗非鱼在水温14℃以上才能安全越冬,故在湖南的冬天必须全部起水,在一般情况下,用网很难拖起。我校经几年捕捞实践,摸索出一种冬不需干池、简便易行而又极为有效的捕捞方法。具体做法是:选择水温在13～15℃时下网,罗非鱼在此温度下,活动能力大大减弱,摄食停止,游泳缓慢,因此很容易捕起。我校1989年11月11日在面积为2.2亩的5号鱼池连拖三网,捕起罗非鱼360公斤,起水率达96％。
