Around the collapsed pesticide depot at Vikuge Farm in Tanzania, DDT and cesium chloride residues in soil, well water and surface water are high. DDT (DDT) and cesium chloride residues were found in the three soil layers up to 50 cm in depth. Topsoil samples DDT and stupid hexachloride content accounted for 28% of their total content in the soil and 6%. The concentration of organochlorine pesticides in water sample is 30μg / L. Other pesticide compounds such as iridodine, azinphos, carbosulfan, gamma-chlordane, chlorpromazine, heptachlor, heptachlor, metamitron, metazachlor, pendimethalin and DDT are also found. Although visible pesticide residues are removed, the remaining soil itself is a noxious substance at risk of harm to the environment and to residents. These results indicate that it is necessary to track the environmental conditions of the pesticide waste storage sites and that removing the macroscopic residue does not mean that the environmental problems have been solved.
