如何控制、利用大众传媒实现自身变革和巩固执政认同,一直是各国政党和政府必须考量的重要内容。社交媒体介入政党政治之后,一方面为政党提供了前所未有的接触和动员大量选民的客观条件;另一方面也挤占了政党的活动空间,导致政党组织和权力结构变化,动摇了代议制民主,加剧了政党的危机感。面对社交媒体时代带来的千变万化,西方主流政党为适应时代的变迁,克服政党衰落,不得不在结构、功能、价值理念、运作方式和竞选策略等方面及时采取一系列的调整、修正和变革措施,以提高政党的新闻执政能力,巩固执政的合法性。然而,这些变革与调适措施并不能从根本上改变西方民主政治及其价值观的本质。
