In the autumn of 1955, Eileen Chang mixed with a group of refugees and headed for an unknown land on the Cleveland President. Her entire impact in China was declared expired. No one knows what happened to this skinny Chinese woman. She spent the coldest winter in her life with her accommodation at the McDonough Arts Camp in New Hampshire.
