卫星通信是现代通信技术的一个重要方面。一般的卫星通信地球站设备庞大,使用条件要求高,限制了它的应用范围。而甚小天线卫星通信地球站(VSAT)的天线直径不超过3米,设备结构紧凑,智能化,价格便宜,安装维护也方便,组网灵活,因此得到广泛的应用,发展很快。本文以日本NEC公司的NEXTAR系统为例,为我们描绘出VSAT系统的概貌。
Satellite communications are an important aspect of modern communications technology. General satellite communications earth station equipment is huge, demanding conditions of use, limiting its scope of application. However, VSAT (Small Earth Satellite Communications Earth Station) has an antenna diameter of no more than 3 meters. The equipment has the advantages of compact structure, intelligence, low cost, convenient installation and maintenance, and flexible networking. Therefore, the VSAT has been widely applied and developed rapidly. This article takes the NEXTAR system of Japan’s NEC Corporation as an example to depict an overview of the VSAT system.
