本文从笔者与日本著名戏曲史专家田仲一成的一次邮件对话引发思考,即我们对戏曲史论的知识是如何成为可能的。这便需要我们颠倒惯常的研究思路,直面观念问题。文章在对“戏曲”“中国戏剧学”“剧场本位观”三个案例做了浅析之后指出,正因为我们存在诸如进化论、民族主义等观念的影响,才导致了我们以后见之明来构建了一个很可能有悖实情的历史知识体系。因此,重审学术实践中考证、钩沉等“实学”与背后思想观念等“虚学”的关系理应被我们纳入思考范围。
