由福建省文化厅主办、泉州市人民政府和莆田市人民政府协办的“福建古老剧种晋京汇报演出”于1998年11月31日至12月4日在京举行。红火喧闹的南国剧坛为岁末的京城添加了一缕春色。这是继’97福建剧展之后又一次福建戏剧艺术的晋京展演活动。这前后相衔、具有鲜明地域文化特色的艺术展示,其传递的文化信息是相当明显的,即大致折射出了闽省近年来在戏剧创作、生产、研究诸方面的取向和选择。然而,它们又各有倚重,如果说,’97福建剧展是以呈示“闽派戏剧”阶段性创作概貌为主旨的,那么,此番的晋京演出意欲展示的则是在古老剧种的保护、研究与创新方面的实践和努力,它更多披示了传统戏剧在当代多元文化空间中存活、发展的可能性和必要性。
