The survival and development of a political party depend on its ability to respond to the challenges it encounters. For the ruling party, this most directly reflects the ability to govern. One of the most important aspects of the CCP’s ability to respond to challenges today is that the political reform should continue to push forward with the existing preconditions for reform in response to the urgent demands of the people for political participation under democratic politics. Logically speaking, it points to the breakthrough and transcendence of the political structure toward the “vested interest pattern” that constitutes a huge obstacle to the reform, and the adjustment of the power structure.
