A new rare earth complex of 2,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid {[Eu (2,5-PDA) (OAc) (H2O)] · 1 · 5H2O} n was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The composition and crystal structure of the compound were characterized by X-ray single crystal diffraction and the fluorescence properties were characterized. The crystal belongs to the monoclinic space group P21 / n with unit cell parameter a = 0.93501 (15) nm, b = 0.83477 (13) nm, c = 1.6779 (3) nm, β = 106.18 °, V = 1.25783 nm3, Z = 4, and the final consistency factor [I> 2σ (I)]: R1 = 0 · 0243, wR2 = 0 · 0605. The carboxyl group of the acetate group in the title compound links the europium ions in the two asymmetric units in a chelation-bridging tridentate fashion to form a dinuclear unit , 2,5-PDA ligands respectively link the two core units from the angle of 88 ° and 56 ° respectively with the plane of acetate and europium ions, thus forming the three-dimensional structure formed by the coordinate bond, uncoordinated Water molecules exist in the crystal through hydrogen bonding.
