民以食为天。在所有的粮食作物里,水稻可是顶着半边天、水稻的人工栽培起源于我国,迄今已有14000年～18000年的栽培历史了。在全世界,有近一半的人口是以稻米为食的;在我国,水稻的播种面积占全国粮食作物的1/4,而产量则占一半以上。然而,随着世界人口不断加速增长,可利用耕地面积持续萎缩,粮食问题就像紧箍咒越来越困扰我们。
People eat food for the day. In all the grain crops, however, the rice is holding half the sky. The artificial cultivation of rice originated in our country and so far it has been cultivated for 14,000 to 18,000 years. Nearly half of the world’s population is rice-based; in our country, the sown area of rice accounts for one quarter of the national food crop, while the output accounts for more than half. However, as the world’s population continues to accelerate and the available arable land area continues to shrink, the food issue is just getting more and more troubling us.
