对在役球罐支柱状况的检查,是球罐定期检验中不可忽视的一个重要内容。球罐支柱因结构上的不合理以及制造、运行中产生的焊缝缺陷,往往会使支柱内积水,在低温条件下结冰膨胀引起支柱及焊缝破裂,导致支柱失效、倒塌,造成重大设备事故。过去,在球罐制造、现场组焊中,往往忽视对支柱的设计、安装质量的监督检查,特别是早期安装的一些球罐,结构设计上的不合理更显突出。所以在球罐的定期检验中,必须重视支柱的检查工作。
