僵化而单一的高校英语课程设置罔顾外语教学的功能原则,人为地将语言技能与语言内涵割裂,直接窒息了语言的文化与社会功能,造成教育资源的浪费,泯灭了学生个性发展的诉求,因而,根据语言技能+文化内涵+学生个性发展的原则,为学生提供多元化和特色化的大学英语课程不但紧迫而且完全可行。香港中文大学的英语课程设置给我们提供了可资借鉴的良好范例。
The rigid and single college English course setting ignores the functional principles of foreign language teaching, artificially separates the language skills and language connotation, directly suffocates the cultural and social functions of the language, causes a waste of educational resources, and eliminates the demands of students’ individual development. According to the principle of language skills + cultural connotation + student personality development, it is urgent and completely feasible to provide students with diversified and distinctive college English courses. The English language curriculum offered by the Chinese University of Hong Kong provides us with good examples that we can learn from.
