The market capitalization of the company used to hit a record high of 260 billion dollars in its heyday, which was over two times more than the total market capitalization of all listed media companies then. Now it has shrunk to 68 billion dollars. The Market capitalization of the AOL division (the long-term market leader in global Internet business) was only 7.7 billion dollars. AOL Time Warner had to wave a sad goodbye to the unforgettable year of 2002 with a financial disaster.
