高允,字伯恭,是北魏名臣,太子拓跋晃之师。太平真君十一年春,一批文官奉命撰写《国记》时,暴露了皇室丑闻,触怒了皇帝,身为中书省主官的高允,该负主要责任,按律当处重刑。太子决定出手搭救老师,把高允接到宫中留宿,叮嘱老师在如此危急的时刻,必须按照他的话行事。那天,拓跋晃带着高允去见皇帝,说:“我与中书侍郎高允相处多年,十分了解他谨慎的为人和对皇室的忠诚。他日日忙于国事和教我诗书,在编写《国记》时,他充其量只能算个小角色。”
