近百年来,西方现代艺术家以惊世骇俗的举动演出了人类艺术史上最为壮观的一幕,其中现代主义艺术家的行为尤其震撼人心.他们使整个西方社会为之瞠目,使一向以传统眼光看艺术者为之咋舌。艺术在文化生活中能掀起如此轩然大波,这在整个人类历史上都是罕见的。时至今日,人们大都习惯了现代艺术中的种种“怪物”。博物馆里有了先锋派艺术品的一席之地,不少公共场所也有了“现代特色”的点缀。对现代艺术冷静的思考和严肃的批评代替了早先骂倒或捧倒的偏执态度。虽然有真知灼见的论著还须待之以时日,但是见仁见智的评论已经连篇累牍。
