党的十六届六中全会通过的《中共中央关于构建社会主义和谐社会若干重大问题的决定》首次提出了社会主义核心价值体系,阐明了社会主义核心价值体系的基本内涵,并提出了“建设社会主义核心价值体系,形成全民族奋发向上的精神力量和团结和睦的精神纽带”的任务。中共中央政治局常委李长春指出,“建设社会主义核心价值体系是十六届六中全会在思想文化建设上的一个重大理论创新,是我们党深刻总结历史经验、科学分析当前形势提出的一项重大任务。”中共中央政治局委员、书记处书记、宣传部长刘云山指出,“社会主义核心价值体系是社会主义制度的内在精神和生命之魂,在所有社会主义价值目标中处于统摄和支配的地位。没有社会主义核心价值体系的引领和主导,和谐文化建设就会迷失方向、失去根本。”本期专题策划主题:社会主义核心价值体系——和谐社会的灵魂。
