Using n - butanol as extractant and alizarin violet as color reagent, the trace tin in superplastic alloy was determined by colorimetric method. Experiments show that in 0.1N hydrochloric acid medium, 30-50 C color, half an hour after extraction, the complex can be stable for at least 2 hours. Beer’s law is obeyed for the amount of tin in the range of 0-15 μg / 10 ml n-butanol. The molar extinction coefficient ε 500 is 5.1 × 10-4.
