英美文学教学文化背景的引入不仅可以激发学生的学习兴趣和热情,同时还可以培养学生的立体思维以及思考问题的深度与广度,另外还在隐形层面上培养了学生的人文精神与人文素养。这虽然是一个漫长且复杂的过程,学生的理解和接受也是一个由浅入深且循序渐进的过程,学生需要在文化知识表层的基础上逐渐理解西方文化的内涵与价值,从而在深层次上完成对英语教学的认知和了解,由此可以看出,英美文学教学中的文化背景引入势在必行。
