Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in women, the incidence rate is increasing year by year. In recent years, the relationship between insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) and breast cancer has attracted much attention. This article reviews the progress of research on the relationship between IGFs and breast cancer. 1 Overview of IGFs System IGFs were discovered by Salman and Daughaday in 1957 because of their genetic structure that is highly homologous to proinsulin and has insulin-like effects. IGFs are a large family of IGF-1 and IGF-2-containing growth factors and their corresponding receptors (IGF-1R) and
