AIM: To investigate the role and mechanism of mesangial calcium-activated potassium channel (KCa3.1) in proliferation of cardiac fibroblasts (CFs) induced by advanced glycation end products (AGEs). Methods: The CFs of adult rats were isolated and cultured, and the passage 1 cells were used for the experiment. The proliferation of CFs was detected by MTT assay. The mRNA level of KCa3.1 channel was detected by RT-PCR. The expressions of KCa3.1 channel protein expression. Results: 200mg / L
