2009年5月下旬,当佳士得在香港再度举槌时,面临着前所未有的压力。因为佳士得在巴黎拍卖圆明园兽首,国家文物局制定了针对佳士得的文物入境通知,佳士得未能像往常一样进入中国内地的上海、北京等城市进行预展。经济危机的阴霾还未过去,香港作为一个国际化都市对于流感疫情又防不胜防。拍卖之前,有关大环境的好消息似乎并不多。但有着200多年历史的佳士得在复杂的危机中体现出稳重与矫健,并以超过10亿港币的总成交额,宣告着强大的“抗跌打能力”。
In late May 2009, when Christie’s again held his gavel in Hong Kong, it was under unprecedented pressure. Because Christie’s auctioned at the Yuanmingyuan beast in Paris, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage formulated a notice of entry of Christie’s artifacts, and Christie’s failed to enter Shanghai, Beijing and other cities in mainland China as usual. The haze of the economic crisis is yet to pass. As an international city, Hong Kong can not be immune to the outbreak of the flu. Before the auction, the good news about the environment does not seem to be much. However, with a history of more than 200 years, Christie’s demonstrated stability and resilience in a complex crisis. With a total turnover exceeding HK $ 1 billion, Christie’s proclaimed a strong “anti-knock ability.”
