ITT Avionics Systems Inc. recently delivered initial engineering and manufacturing hardware for the AN / ALQ-211 Integrated Radio Frequency Countermeasure System (SIRFC) for the US Air Force Special Operations Unit’s CV-22 “crocodile” tilting horizontal rotorcraft. The CV- 22 The SIRFC is a bit different from the Army Apache Apache AH-64 attack helicopters, which include a rack, backplane and supplemental standard electronics, including the SIRFCCV-22 receiver / processor (LRU-1) Module, the LRU-1 was handed over to the aircraft manufacturer Bell Corporation and loaded into the company’s V-22 electronic system test laboratory to demonstrate the initial performance of the EMD hardware as devised by the system design requirements. It will be used to support ITT’s delivery of the full suite of SIRFC CV-22EMD systems in support of the pilot AVIC trial conducted in August.
