地震惨烈,山河变色;生灵涂炭,废墟一片。面对无情灾难,航天人在行动。在做好其他抗震救灾工作的同时,航天人一直关注着地震中失学的孩子。“无论有多大困难,孩子念书一天也不能耽误!”总装备部驻川某基地,在不断的余震中,遵照总装备部的指示,以航天人特有的信念和速度抢建校园。在短短24小时内建起一所帐篷学校,随后马不停蹄地为恢复学校正常教学和生活而努力,创造了一个抗震救灾的奇迹,竖起了灾后校园建设和教学生活的标杆。这所学校名叫“总装备部·绵阳八一帐篷学校”。
