Hillis Miller, a world-renowned American literary critic and theorist, was one of the first Western scholars who came to China to give lectures and which had a significant impact on the humanities in China since the reform and opening up. He has successively visited China as many as fifteen times and successively conducted over 30 lectures in Chinese universities and research institutes.
