Just after her arrival at the school, Otsz, a 6-year-old freshman from Frankfurt, received a textbook and a green note book that looked a bit peculiarly green. The teacher told the children: This is not an exercise book for writing or doing homework, nor is it a general diary, nor is it an ordinary album. The cover of the green notepad is covered in green with forests, grasslands, meadows and fields, just like the landscapes common on both sides of the German motorway. The teacher also told the children that the green notepad is made of “recycled paper” and the raw materials are waste paper and rubbish, so it does not cost a lot of wood - which in turn means that there is no need to cut precious forests.
