Li Qunli, who lives in Vancouver, Canada, is an artist of this type: his cold-sitterism is supported by a rare passion that determines his paintings under the illusion of realism that contains a philosophical denial, Repeatedly exploring the tragedy of life, a kind of enthusiasm for homeless drift wandering horizon faith. This determines the division of Li Qunli. The more calmly he portrays his emotions, the more he is irrational. This has created a kind of nervous tension in his paintings. In a sense, Li Qunli’s paintings are a replica of his mind, and the deserted, almost aesthetic, ruinless streets and unparalleled airports, buses and pipelines all contain the artist’s dependence on the ultimate world. It is this series of characteristics, the overlapping characteristics of life and art, so that Li Qunli become an orphan art, he stood outside the mainstream, stubbornly complaining about the hope of the world. - Yang Xiaoyan (professor, art critic, curator)
