Computers have so far not been truly used for production technology in forging production, though its applications have been very commercial and enterprise-wide. In recent years people have developed computer methods (CAD computer-aided design / CAM computer-aided manufacturing) that have proven to be effective under actual production conditions. 1. Introduction Forging preparations require the following parameters to be determined first: a. The weight of the blank, b. The number of mold bores and their geometrical dimensions, c.
