中国有广阔的海洋,丰富的海洋资源,有利于海洋事业的发展。为了充分利用、开发海洋资源,中国先后建造了大型船舶、海上钻井平台等大型钢铁结构设施,而这些钢铁结构所处的海洋环境比较恶劣,腐蚀与污损的程度比陆地要高出5-6倍,因而使海洋防腐蚀和防污涂料的地位显得更为重要。近年以来,中国的海洋涂料以每年约30%的速度增加,而船舶涂料在海洋涂料中占了相当大的一部分,由此可见中国船舶涂料的市场前景相当广阔。
